The Yamaha IS1118 is a high power subwoofer system comprised of a single 18-inch woofer. This IS1118 can be clustered in the same fashion as the 2-way models. Many eyebolt suspension points have been provided for easy flying. The IS1118 is an ideal match for full-range speakers such as IF2112/2115 - for maximum power and full-spectrum reproduction.
Yamaha\'s new Installation Series Speakers address a number of important issues that give them unprecedented performance and handling characteristics for live sound applications, including permanent installations. In particular, phase characteristics have been kept smooth and consistent throughout the entire series, so you can mix and match speakers to suit any system and venue without ending up with hot and dead spots due to phase interference. And of course sonic quality is superb throughout the entire reproduction range so the full impact of the source material reaches the audience undiluted.

Massive Bass In order to produce tight, deep bass, a subwoofer has to move lots of air. While some companies are content to use "off-the-shelf" drivers, we custom-design each LF driver to perfectly match its enclosure and application. The VP1800S features a powerful 18" long-excursion LF driver in a tuned enclosure, providing rich, tight bass all the way down to 40 Hz. That's extraordinarily deep bass that will shake the house right down to its foundation.
Let's Get Technical The VP1800S is capable of extremely high sound pressure levels (100 dB half space 1 W @ 1 m) and provides a 40 to 200 Hz frequency range. A standard 35-mm (1.375“) pole socket is provided for pole-mounting loudspeakers atop the VP1800S. The internal Low-pass filter (LPF) is fixed at 150 Hz. Professional-style twist-lock connectors are provided.

The Action 18 bass system incorporates a 18” low frequency transducer with a 4 ” voice coil mounted as direct radiator into a bass-reflex cabinet. The loudspeaker is protected by a perforated steel grille, sealed against corrosion using a powder coat finish. The Action 18 is designed for use in biamped systems. A top located pole-mount socket permits mounting full-range systems above the Action 18 and two bar handles makes moving easy.
