Boasting performance comparable to much larger systems, but in a compact package, the bi-amplified 8040B is ideal for use in many situations where a wide frequency response is needed but space is limited.
Uses include nearfield monitoring, project/home studios, workstations, broadcast and TV control rooms and mobile production vehicles.
Our Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) feature, reduces power consumption to less than 0.5 watts by automatically switching the active monitor to standby, when no audio signal has been detected for some time. When it receives an audio signal again, the loudspeaker turns back on. ISS is fully compliant with the latest EU requirements and the ErP 2013 Directive for electronic devices.
The ingenious, flow optimized, reflex port achieves clear deep bass articulation with no compression or port noises. Combined with the advanced Genelec Directivity Control WaveguideTM (DCWTM) and the rounded edges and gently curved front and sides of the MDETM (Minimum Diffraction EnclosureTM) enclosure, the result is an astoundingly wide, flat frequency response both on and off axis.
Other benefits include superb imaging qualities and less listening fatigue.
Carefully designed crossover filters with steep roll-off feed dedicated amplifiers for each of the low distortion drivers. The 8040B includes magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry and versatile room response controls as standard.
Each 8040B comes with an Iso-PodTM (Isolation Positioner/DecouplerTM) which eliminates coloration of the sound by decoupling the monitor from its mounting surface. The Iso-PodTM also allows the speaker to be angled so that its acoustic axis points directly at the listener.
For ideal mounting in differing environments, the 8040B includes integrated rear support points for floor and wall stands, with an additional M10 threaded mounting hole on the enclosure base.

The Twin6 Be is the best seller of the Focal Professional range and the most versatile work tool of the SM6 line. It represents the only necessary solution for recording, mixing and mastering. The image precision, treble definition as well as midrange neutrality are at the heart of its reputation.
The excellent articulation of the bass and midbass registers, even at very high sound levels, makes it an unavoidable reference for engineers who require absolute transparency. Furthermore, the design of the Twin6 Be permits a high SPL while at the same time offering a stable tonal balance. One of the two 6.5" woofers works in large band (midrange – bass) whereas the other reproduces from 40 to 150Hz. This creates a bass that preserves all the signal dynamics, without any masking effect in the midrange, thereby keeping all its neutrality and transparency. Additional control of the bass register is accomplished by fine-tuning on the control plate on the back of the Twin6 Be in order to obtain a perfect mirror configuration with its mate. The Twin6 Be can be installed vertically or horizontally to respond to the space requirements of each studio.
